ABC Waters Exhibition - Thank you PUB!
About 16,000 visitors visited PUB’s Active, Beautiful, Clean Waters (ABC Waters) exhibition last week. Held over six days (6 Feb - 11 Feb 2007) at the Asian Civilisations Museum, it attracted a number of Ministers, Members of Parliament, Ambassadors and Heads of organizations, besides students and grassroots leaders.
Mr Tan Nguan Sen, Director, Catchment and Waterways Department said, "We are very pleased with the public’s response to the ABC Waters exhibition. PUB received more than 1,470 feedback during the exhibition, through the ABC Waters website and PUB’s hotline. We welcome all feedback from the public on what they think of our proposals and what other interesting features they would like to see as part the ABC Waters programme."
"Thank you PUB!" remarked a smiling old gentleman as he left the Asian Civilization Museum with his grandson. He had brought his grandson with him to the ABC Waters Exhibition and was very excited by the projects to transform Singapore’s waterways that PUB has envisioned.
The visitors and the many VIPs who took time amid their busy schedules to tour and view our exciting projects at the ABC Waters Exhibition were also very impressed.

A vibrant and active Singapore River

Such lasting impressions of the ABC Waters program were made possible thanks to the hard work put in by our PUB staff.
Amongst them are our many excellent PUB guides whose captivating guided tours of the entire exhibition kept our visitors and VIPs alike enthralled.
The delighted elderly gentleman who walked out of the Asian Civilization Museum, hand in hand with his grandson is a good testimony of our successful exhibition.
Let us all work together to transform Singapore into a "City of Gardens & Water"!
Background
ABC Waters is a long-term initiative by PUB to bring people closer to water so that they can better appreciate and cherish this precious resource. It aims to transform utilitarian infrastructural assets such as drains, canals and reservoirs into beautiful and clean streams, rivers and lakes that are teeming with vibrancy. This will help realize PM Lee’s vision of Singapore as a city of Gardens and Water.
