Besides attracting investments and international water companies to Singapore, PUB has also drawn foreign talents to work in the water industry here. This diversity of talents, viewpoints and cultural sensibilities makes a world of difference to the organisation. Ong May Anne talks to some of our `UN representatives' and finds that they are united - by their love for water.

Phang Tsang Wing
Senior Manager, Corporate Development

Like Singapore, Hong Kong is small. Because of that, Tsang Wing says that "we always see globalisation as a `must' for survival." He came here on a scholarship in 1995 ansd never left. Now, having spent almost half his life here, he isn't sure whether he sees himself as a Hongkonger or a Singaporean.

Tsang Wing points out that Hongkongers are known to treasure water. This is partly

due to its symbolism (money) and its role in fengshui.

But it isn't money that's got him all fired up about his work. He's enthusiastic about making sure Singapore has enough water for the foreseeable future, and "more importantly, what we are doing every day is also going to help the less fortunate in the world, who do not have enough water to drink, or no proper sanitary system. By creating a global hydrohub, we can help improve their lives!"
