Water Volunteer Programme
Launched on 26 March 2006, PUB is actively working with People’s Association (PA) , the Community Development Councils (CDCs), schools and grassroot organisations to form Water Volunteer Groups (WVGs). The WVGs encourage residents to cut down on their water consumption by taking the 10-litre challenge. Water volunteers will assist to educate the households on water conservation focusing on the 7 good water conservation habits while at the same time PUB officers will help to install the water saving devices. The WVG would also visit lower income and needy families to help them save on their water bills.
So far, more than 40 constituencies have formed the WVGs and households have shown substantial savings of 5 to 10 % in water consumption.
