How to Participate

Video Contents

The contents of the video in the last competition included one or all of the following points on water conservation at home in a fun and interactive manner.

  1. What does water conservation mean to me?
  2. What I can do to use water wisely?
  3. Good examples of water conservation at home.

Participating teams can use any medium like sand art, clay, line drawing, lego and painting etc in the video to tell their water conservation stories. However, the format of submission should be in video’s MP4 format so that it can be screened on iPhone and iPad.

The music used in the video should be original and not copied from existing songs or tunes.

Duration of the video

The duration including the opening and closing should be about 45 seconds.

Format of the video

The video shall be presented in MP4 format so that it can be loaded on You Tube and can be screened on iPhone and iPad.

This video competition is open to all public and private primary schools in Singapore.

Registration Rules

  1. Each school can form more than one team for this competition.
  2. It is mandatory for each team to be led by a teacher facilitator with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 students (10-12 years old). The teacher facilitator can lead up to two teams and act as a point of contact between the school and organiser. However, he/she cannot work directly on the team’s entry.
  3. Two complimentary workshops will be provided.
  4. Format for final submission should be in MP4
  5. Closing date for all submission is on 25 Nov 2011.

Schools must submit a registration form to indicate their interest to join the competition and to qualify for complimentary workshops.

Video making workshops (Optional)

11 Nov 2011 2pm

The workshop will be conducted by Bukit View Secondary School.

Participating teams must come down with raw video footages either in DV tapes/SD cards (with own video camera) or saved as Quicktime/PM4 in CDs or thumbdrives.

Submission of final video (in MP4 format)

25 Nov 2011

Shortlisting of video

19 Dec – 23 Dec 2011

Finalists will be selected. The panel of judges will include representatives from Bukit View Secondary School, PUB and winners of Watermark Award.

Posting of chosen video on video competition website for online voting

2 Jan – 15 Jan 2012

The organising committee will also held its internal judging at the same time.

Winners will be notified

Mid-Feb 2012

The organising committee will inform winners by phone and follow-up with a letter. The organising committee will organise a meeting with the winners to update on the award presentation.
