Our Waters Programme |
Take Ownership
With a comprehensive water management system, Singapore has managed this vital resource well. But we can make our water supply sustainable only if everyone plays a part.
Litter thrown by people or washed by the rain into drains and canals ends up in our reservoirs. And although such water can still be treated, such pollutants deprive us of clean and beautiful reservoirs to enjoy.
PUB’s Our Waters programme aims to nurture a sense of ownership and encourage Singaporeans to be guardians of our water. |
|
|
Any water-loving person or group can participate in the programme by registering with PUB. The Our Waters programme seeks to encourage groups from the 3P sectors of the community: |
- People (schools, grassroots organisations, town councils and non-government organisations)
- Private (corporations)
- Public (government organisations)

What you can do |
Maintenance Efforts and Outreach Programme
As a participant, you can help to maintain the cleanliness of our waters. By conducting clean-ups, participants monitor the cleanliness of the area under their care and provide feedback to PUB and the National Environment Agency. |
|
Providing Resources
You can also take part by providing resources in cash and/or in kind. These will go towards supporting fellow participants who require funding for their maintenance efforts and outreach programmes.
Development and Maintenance of the Chosen Waterway and Reservoir
Participants may even propose plans for the development and commercial use of their chosen reservoirs and waterways.
If they wish to make use of a particular location, participants have to take on the maintenance of that area.
