Celebrating Good Service & Innovation

Value Creation Day winners are recognised for their quality service and customer-centric efforts.

Going the extra mile for customers. Brainstorming new ideas with quantifiable benefits. That’s the thrust of PUB’s annual Value Creation Day. In keeping pace with changing needs and expectations of customers, this full-day event recognises outstanding work in the areas of service quality and innovation among PUB staff.

WHERE’S THE LEAK?

A heart-warming example of outstanding service quality was demonstrated by the team of Mr Tan Ger Kwang, Mr Anand Raja and Mr Muhammad Azalie from Water Supply Network Department. Despite it being their day off, the team went to the aid of a customer who requested leak detection services on a Saturday. Undeterred by tough site conditions, the team persevered for several hours and discovered the source of the underground leak, much to the customer’s delight.

LET’S SAVE $10K

In the area of innovation, PUB’s $10K Ideas programme, where staff are challenged to help the company save $10,000 per idea, has long been a runaway success. Introduced in 2004, the programme generated 201 $10K ideas for the year 2007/08 with savings of $21.6 million in value and another $58.1 million in cost avoidance. Superstar innovators who contributed outstanding $10K ideas are recognised for their efforts during the Value Creation Award Ceremony.

WINNERS ALL

The most recent Value Creation Day, held in March 2008 at the NTUC Auditorium, was an occasion for some 800 employees to reaffirm PUB’s valuecreation and customer-centric culture by participating in an award ceremony and other fun activities.

It was also an opportunity for organisation excellence activists, quality service managers and green champions to take a bow for their commitment to drive innovation, service quality and eco-office solutions. Praised PUB Chief Executive Mr Khoo Teng Chye: “I strongly urge everyone to give your fullest support to these champions in your department.”
