Opened in Feburary 2003 along with the official launch of NEWater, the NEWater Visitor Centre is part of PUB’s efforts to create a sustained public education programme. Visitors can learn about the processes of producing NEWater and discover Singapore’s long-term plan in finding a sustainable supply of water to meet its growing population.
In the name of edutainment, multi-media presentations and interactive games enliven the Singapore water story, making it an engaging and enriching experience for all. Since its opening, the NEWater Visitor Centre has played host to foreign dignitaries, water specialists, tourists, students and even local superstar Zoe Tay, who filmed a Lunar New Year music video here!
The NEWater Visitor Centre is located at Koh Sek Lim Road, off Upper Changi Road East. For enquiries and tour details, please call 6546-7874/6541-0511. Admission is free.
WATER SAVING TIPS
- Monitor your water bill to check your family’s water consumption. If your onsumption is more than the average, re-look your family’s water usage habits.
- Take shorter showers. Try and keep showers to under five minutes and turn off the water tap while soaping.
- Wash vegetables and dishes in a filled sink instead of under a running tap.
- Fill your washing machine on a full load to maximise water usage.
- Repair leaks and dripping taps immediately to prevent water wastage.
- Cultivate water-saving toilet habits by using a half flush for liquid waste.
