Treatment System for Silty Water from Construction Sites

Silt and sediment control is a key element in our water resources management strategy. Sediments introduced into our rivers cause environmental pollution and increase flood risk and turn our river water brown. Sediments can remain suspended for a very long time. The major source of sediments is from construction sites as construction activities disturb existing ground cover and vegetation, and expose much bare surfaces.

The project testbedded the treatment of silty water from construction sites, in particular the sitly storm water runoff.

The treatment process involved a combination of FLOCCEASY and Lamella plate clarifier units to provide an effective treatment process.
