Training Collaborations with International Organizations
ATRIUM (Asia Training and Research Initiative for Urban Management) Programme |

WaterHub collaborates with International Enterprise Singapore (IE S’pore) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) to support the Training and Research Initiative for Urban Management (ATRIUM) programme in 2007. ATRIUM focuses on urban master-planning, urban transport management, water and environmental management. WaterHub supported this capacity building programme in sustainable water resources management and co-hosted the 1st and 2nd ATRIUM Programme which was attended by senior urban sector policy makers from China and India government officials. |

Water Safety Plan - Training of Trainers Workshop |

Singapore is in a partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) to improve public health worldwide through the safe management of drinking water. Under this collaborative partnership, WaterHub and WHO have developed and conducted the Water Safety Plans Training of Trainers Workshop in 2007. The workshop comprises both theoretical framework of the Water Safety Plans and practical case examples on safe water management developed by WHO and the collaboration respectively. To date, countries such as the Philippines, Vietnam and Laos have participated in this programme. |

WaterHub collaborates with the Water and Sanitation Programme – South Asia Office to develop and conduct a 5-day Workshop on Billing and Collection for Water Supply. The Water and Sanitation Programme is a multi donor partnership of the World Bank for improving water and sanitation sector policies, practices and capacities to help developing countries attain the Millennium Development Goals of 2015. This workshop, organized in 2007, received participation from water utilities companies in India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. |

Regional Media Workshop on Urban Water and Sanitation Issues in Asia and the Pacific |

WaterHub and United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) co-organised the above Regional Media Workshop in 2007. This workshop serves to create awareness among media professionals regarding the current situation of water and sanitation in various countries of Asia. This workshop also seeks to create public awareness and advocates the promotion for reforms to support UN Millennium Development Goals 2015. Countries participating in this workshop include India, Nepal, China, Vietnam and Lao PDR. |

WaterHub also engaged in organising training programmes for the China group. Delegates come from various provinces such as Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Shunde, Liaoning and Dalian etc. Through these visits, the delegates were able to gain insights of Singapore’s experience in sustainable water resources. Site visits to PUB installations were also incorporated to enhance the effectiveness of the entire learning journey of the water loop. |
