Positioned as a premier centre for research and development in water technology, WaterHub harnesses the technology lever to widen the options for innovation and diversification of water resources. Working closely with in-house R&D experts, local and international academia and industry players, WaterHub promotes R&D project collaborations and exchanges among industry partners, academia and experts from international water agencies through various initiatives, seminars, workshops and programmes. This in turn has enhanced the capabilities of the local water industry in developing new products or improving existing products to meet challenges of the dynamic local and global water market.
The cornerstone of WaterHub’s technology arm is the PUB’s R&D Centre for Advanced Water Technology (CAWT). Besides providing cost-effective water, used water technologies and solutions, CAWT also develops leading edge technologies that help reinforce Singapore's global position in water production quality and process improvising. Some key areas of expertise include advanced water analysis, used water treatment and recycling, ultra-pure water production, membrane systems and environmental biotechnology.
PUB will continue to invest in technology to develop Singapore's water production, conservation and treatment facilities. Through its technology groups, PUB works with the water industry on water-related R&D work; and carries out test-bedding of their technologies at PUB installations. The setting up of pilot plants and laboratories by research institutes at WaterHub aid the growth of the R&D clusters.
Indeed, WaterHub is the epitome of R&D exchange and knowledge sharing. |
