A New Experience at Bedok Reservoir Park

It was a starry night with the perfect crescent moon smiling over the floating deck of Bedok Reservoir. Gentle breezes caressed nearly 120 friends and potential partners during our first joint PUB-NParks networking session held at the floating deck on 3 December 2008.

Located next to Bedok Reservoir, children from Cherie Hearts Kids 'R' Us Preschool wowed the audience with a recital and song .

Fire twirlers weaved their magic heralding more exciting events at the floating deck.

The air was filled with laughter, lots of talk, song, dance, food and drink. Old friends reconnected and new friends agreed to work together to make the floating deck come alive.

Organised by PUB and NParks, the evening set out to showcase just how versatile the new feature at the Reservoir can be. So versatile that Miss Ding Zhen Xin, an education officer, who used to have long romantic strolls along the water’s edge with her fiance excitedly decided during the event to make the floating deck her wedding platform in May.

PUB's aim to bring people closer to water so that they can better appreciate and cherish this precious resource certainly had a great start. More networking sessions are planned for other ABC Waters projects. The floating deck can be booked online at www.pub.gov.sg or www.nparks.gov.sg.
