The Vision

“Water for All: Conserve, Value, Enjoy”, the tagline of PUB encapsulates two key strategic initiatives in managing water resources in Singapore. The first initiative, “Water for All”, aims to ensure a diversified and sustainable water supply, which includes local catchment water, imported water, NEWater and desalinated water. On the other hand, the second strategic thrust “Conserve, Value, Enjoy” focuses on engaging the People-Public-Private (3P) sectors to conserve water and take ownership of water resources, while “Conserve” is addressed by PUB conservation strategies and programmes.

ABC Waters Programme serves as the physical manifestation of “Value” and “Enjoy”, encompassing additional complementary initiatives in managing catchments and waterways in Singapore. As two-thirds of Singapore will be water catchments in the long term, it is thus of critical importance to ensure that catchment water draining into canals and reservoirs is well managed in term of its quantity and quality.
