Water Conservation Video Competition 2011/2012

Today, Singapore has built a robust, diversified and sustainable water supply from four different sources known as the Four National Taps. More than 5 million people enjoy clean, safe water at the turn of a tap. However securing an adequate water supply is not enough. It is equally important to manage the water demand.

Over the years, PUB has built up a comprehensive water conservation programme to reach out to the 3P (People, Private and Public) sectors. PUB’s long-term efforts in water conservation have seen Singapore’s per capita domestic water consumption dropped from 165 litres per day in 2003 to the current 153 litres. The target is to lower it to 147 litres by 2020 and 140 litres by 2030.

Through ongoing efforts to make water conservation a way of life, we hope to remind people that water is precious even though it is easily available at the turn of a tap.

As part of our efforts to make water conservation a way of life, Bukit View Secondary School and PUB are jointly organising the Water Conservation Video Competition. This is the first video competition on water conservation.
