World Water Day falls annually on 22 March, a day designated by the United Nations to raise awareness on preserving water resources.
In Singapore, World Water Day is an occasion where our 3P partners such as schools, grassroots organisations, NGOs, public agencies and private companies take the lead in organising events at our waterways and reservoirs. These water centric events aim to bring people closer to the water, and to instil a sense of ownership of our waters and the community spaces around them.
In 2013, island-wide activities will be held on 16 March 2013 with the anchor event at Marina Barrage, accompanied by satellite activities at 5 major ABC Waters sites and partners' adopted water bodies. The theme for Singapore World Water Day celebrations is "Every Drop Counts!" , which brings across the message of how every drop of water is precious.
Following our tradition of by community for the community, our community partners initiate activities for the community such as yoga, cycling and mass walk at the following venues:
Marina Barrage
Jurong Lake
Kallang River @ Bishan-Ang Mo Kio Park
Lorong Halus Wetland
Lower Seletar Reservoir
