Requirement to Apply for Vessel Permit
This notification is to inform all stakeholders and prospective stakeholders that vessels have to fulfill certain requirements and get a permit from PUB before it can enter into Marina Reservoir. Guidelines for the vessel permit application and the application forms themselves can be downloaded below:
Requirement to Apply for Event Permit
This notification is to inform all stakeholders and event organizers that they are required to seek PUB approval before they hold any event in Marina Reservoir.
An applicant shall:
- complete the Application Form for Events Permit as attached below.
- attached/obtained the:
- approval from URA and STB for events that ARE conducted within Singapore River, Marina Bay and Marina Channel or;
- approval from URA and SSC for events that ARE conducted within Kallang Basin;
- marked out the route taken for the activity in our attached map of the Marina Reservoir below.
- submit the liability insurance required for the event
- fax or email the Application Form together with the marked out route to Catchment & Waterway Department
Prior to seeking approval from PUB for holding events in Marina Reservoir, approval from URA, STB or SSC must be obtained as above stated depending on the location of the event held. The completed application forms with all the relevant details of the activities should then be submitted to PUB at least ONE MONTH before the event date. If the event involves motorized vessel(s)/boat(s) that is/are yet to be permitted in the reservoir in which the event will be held, the event organizer has to apply for the vessel permit(s) as well as the event permit.

Event organizers could also download a copy of Marina Reservoir map should they need it to indicate the location of their events. All participants are to follow the code of conduct for events conducted in Marina Reservoir. A copy of code of conduct can be downloaded from the link below.
List of Approved Marine Surveyors
Under the Public Utilities (Reservoirs and Catchment Areas) Regulations 2006, vessels entering Marina Reservoir and other reservoirs in Singapore have to apply for Vessel Permits. Passenger vessels carrying up to 12 people have to be inspected and certified fit for its intended purpose by a marine surveyor approved by the Board before permit can be issued to them.

Application for Inclusion in PUB's list of Approved Marine Surveyors
Under the Public Utilities (Reservoirs and Catchment Areas) Regulations 2006 effective from 1st July 2006 onwards, vessels entering Marina Reservoir and other reservoirs in Singapore have to apply for Vessel Permits.
For the purpose of issuing Vessel Permits to passenger vessels carrying up to 12 persons, it is required that the vessel has to be inspected and certified fit for its intended purpose by a marine surveyor approved by the Board. PUB would like to invite qualified marine-surveying firms that wish to be included in the PUB's list of approved marine surveyors. The surveyor should have at least a Class 2 (Deck) or (Engine) Certificate of Competency and at least one year experience in the inspection and survey of vessels. Interested firms are invited to submit their applications with their surveyor's qualifications & their past experiences for PUB's consideration.

Application for Inclusion in PUB's List of Approved Marine Surveyor
For the purpose of issuing vessel permits to passenger vessels carrying more than 12 passengers, certification shall be by a Ship Classification Society or its consulting arms. Ships Classification Societies and its consulting arms may apply to PUB to be included in PUB's list of approved marine surveyors. Application may be sent to Deputy Director at the above address.
Operation of Boat hoist with effect from 1 Mar 2007
With the recent closure of Marina Channel, a boat hoist located at the east abutment of Marina Barrage will commence operation on 1 Mar 07 onwards to allow vessels to access between the Reservoir and the sea. The boat hoist has a maximum lifting capacity of 70 tonnes and could carry vessels with length and breadth of up to 20m long by 6m wide respectively.

Boat Hoist Fees
With effect from 1 Mar 2009, a fee for the use of the boat hoist facility will be charged based on the length of the vessel at the prevailing rate of S$3 per foot run. The fee is inclusive of both entering and leaving the barrage. Payments can be made using either NETS or credit cards only. Users of the boat hoist will have to make payments upon collection of the vessel permit. For subsequent entries/exits, please liaise with the boat hoist operators during boat hoist operational hours (8.30am - 5.30pm daily including weekends and public holidays). | |
