Used Water Treatment |
“Closing the Water Loop” captures the process of short-circuiting the water cycle – instead of discharging treated used water out to sea, and relying on the natural hydrologic cycle of evaporation, cloud formation and rainfall to recycle the water, the Water Loop is closed as the used water can be reclaimed, which is then distributed for large scale non-potable use by industries as well as for indirect potable use.
The aim of R&D in used water treatment is therefore, to achieve cost effective and efficient processes, developed through innovative technologies, that will ensure high effluent standards. R&D in used water treatment area also covers sludge minimisation, biogas utilisation, as well as odor destruction
