Formerly known as the TechPioneer scheme, the Living Lab (Water) is a funding scheme that provides funding to accelerate the commercialisation of new water technologies that are close to operational stage by encouraging their early local adoption.
Living labs provide platforms for technology providers to work with public sector (e.g. PUB) and private sector adopters (e.g. industrial water users) to gain track records for their new technologies, hence building confidence amongst technology adopters who are typically risk-averse.
The grant is open to Singapore-registered businesses and organisations, whether in the public or private sector.
It is targeted at companies testing new water technology by helping them to partially defray the costs of demonstrating the new technology.
The grant prioritises projects that can help technology providers establish a strong track record, to expedite the commercialisation of their technologies or products.
There are two ways to apply for the grant. Firstly, the technology provider and adopter can submit a joint application. Alternatively, the technology provider or adopter can apply individually and may be conditionally awarded the grant before the appointment of the other party.
