  1. The Va’a Association (Singapore) (VAS) will be conducting the Singapore National Sprint Championships at Marina Reservoir, Marina Bay on the above dates and timing.
    1. Details of Water Movement on 9 and 10 May – To and From the Race Venue
      1. Between 7:15am to 7:45 am: Vessels will be paddled from the Dragonboat Nursery (OC-6, OC 2) and KWSC (OC1, V1) to the Marina Bay Pontoons. See diagram 3 below.
      2. Between 18:00pm to 18:45: Vessels will be paddled (moved) from Marina Bay to Dragonboat Nursery. See diagram 3 below.

  2. The event will consist of multiple sprint races of 500m and 250m. Each race will last approximately 3 mins with 5-minute intervals between races.

  3. Course Setup and Tear Down: The course will be marked by buoys placed as per diagram 2. Buoys will be installed/positioned starting from 27 April to 8 May 2026 and removed between 11 to 21 May 2026.

  4. An estimated minimum of 150m between the course and the Merlion / Fullerton Bay Hotel side of the Marina to allow movement of vessels.

  5. Vessels will be able to cross the course between races under the direction of a safety boat at specific crossing points as directed by race controller.

Safety Note

  1. All vessels are advised to be aware of the buoys and avoid passage within 10 meters of the buoys to avoid anchor lines during the setup and teardown of the course.

  2. All vessels are advised to comply with the instructions and signals given by the safety boat crew. The safety boat will display coloured flags – ORANGE FLAG = PLEASE HOLD DO NOT CROSS. BLUE FLAG = PLEASE PROCEED TO CROSS THE COURSE IN THE DESIGNATED CHANNEL. There could be two (2) to five (5) minutes of waiting time if the time trial is in progress at the time of crossing.

  3. All vessels are advised to exercise caution and take note of the activities. Please minimise wake while moving.

  4. All vessels are to comply strictly within the navigational routes as set out in the map.
